Residents of downtown Overland Park will no longer have to forego the benefits of living in an urban environment. Ground was broken today for InterUrban Lofts, a mixed-use development at the corner of West 79th and Conser streets, just 1 ½ blocks from the Downtown Overland Park shopping and dining district.

The InterUrban Lofts is a public-private partnership between the developer and the City of Overland Park, Kansas. InterUrban Lofts will feature 41 boutique apartments, approximately 7,000 square feet of class A office space and an underground parking garage. Amenities will include a fitness center, an outdoor space featuring a fireplace, TV, and BBQ grilles, complimentary coffee bar and free Wifi for use in all of the common areas.

Kansas City-based REAL Property Group is the developer for the project. Since 1992, REAL Property Group has managed and developed its own portfolio of successful retail, industrial and multifamily properties. The company is focused on identifying urban infill mixed-use and multifamily redevelopment sites and pursuing redevelopment consistent with principles of New Urbanism.

The location of “InterUrban Lofts is perfect for the kind of living experience many people want and which has previously been unavailable in downtown Overland Park,” said REAL Property Group Principal Hal Shapiro. “We’re providing building amenities, but we’re also providing the amenity of being within a conveniently walkable distance to a thriving business community, an award winning Farmer’s Market and many options for dining, shopping, wellness, and entertainment.”

InterUrban Lofts is scheduled to be completed by March, 2017 and will begin accepting resident applications in Fall 2016.
