Kevin Walker joins Chamber staff

Overland Park Chamber gains new Vice President of Public Policy & Advocacy

The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce has hired Kevin Walker to serve as its Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy. He replaces Tom Robinett who is retiring at the end of this month after leading the Chamber’s advocacy efforts for several years.

“Kevin brings with him an outstanding combination of government relations experience as well as a background working for chambers of commerce,” said Tracey Osborne Oltjen, president of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce. “Our Chamber is fortunate to have someone with such exceptional experience and qualifications join our team.”

Most recently, Walker was Regional Vice President of Advocacy for the American Heart Association where he has worked since 1999. He has been a leader within its eleven-state Midwest Affiliate advocacy team. Kevin has more than 20 years of experience working with Kansas and Missouri legislatures and agencies, as well as development of public policy agendas, campaign planning and execution, volunteer engagement and direct lobbying at the local, state and federal levels.

Prior to that, Walker served in executive, policy and marketing/member services roles at the Merriam and Lawrence chambers of commerce and the Oklahoma State Chamber.
