Overland Park Chamber Economic Development Council launching new online business intelligence platform

Overland Park, Kan., February 7, 2025 – To make successful decisions and reduce the risk of failure, aspiring entrepreneurs need resources to help them plan for their business opening. As this group of entrepreneurs enters the marketplace, they need data and market research to create solid business plans.

The Overland Park Chamber Economic Development Council is empowering aspiring entrepreneurs through an innovative new business intelligence platform, SizeUp Overland Park. The service will be available for free to all local entrepreneurs on the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce website at www.opchamber.org.

Business professionals can learn more about SizeUp Overland Park at “Love at First Insight,” an information session taking place 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, at the Overland Park Chamber, 9001 West 110th Street in Corporate Woods. Participants will learn more about the many ways the new data tool can help with market research, business tools and assistance navigating the challenges of starting and growing a business in Johnson County. Event registration is available here.

SizeUp Overland Park provides powerful market research and business intelligence that is both industry specific and hyperlocal. It includes similar data used by huge corporations, but which has been historically inaccessible to small businesses because of the cost and expertise required to analyze data. SizeUp Overland Park helps level the playing field by empowering local entrepreneurs and small businesses with these data insights at no cost to them so they can make data-driven decisions just like the biggest companies.

SizeUp Overland Park users can:

  • Validate or reject assumptions about their business performance based on objective industry data.
  • Discover potential customers and suppliers to grow their business.
  • Optimize their advertising and marketing to targeted and preferred customers.
  • Analyze the characteristics and spending of consumers in the area.
  • Better serve their small business customers.

“In today’s information economy, businesses without access to information are at a higher risk of failure and stunted growth. The Overland Park Chamber is committed to helping our entrepreneurs start, operate, and grow through the support of programs and services like SizeUp Overland Park,” said Libbey Tucker, Senior Vice President, Economic Development.

“Our Chamber wants local businesses to succeed and grow. An important way to support our entrepreneurs is by starting them off with a solid foundation,” Tucker explained.

“SizeUp Overland Park gives entrepreneurs information they need to realistically assess their assumptions using data relevant to their industry and to discover business opportunities. Large companies also can use this tool to better serve their small business customers,” Tucker added.

The software powering SizeUp Overland Park won the 1st Place award from the United States Department of Commerce as a business app that helps American businesses be more competitive, improve their success, foster prosperity and create more jobs.
